About Gemma Chan
Gemma Chan represents Diversity Advocacy in Entertainment, Film/TV Production, and Humanitarian Action.
After graduating with a law degree from Worcester College, Oxford, she made the bold choice to decline a training contract at a top-tier law firm to enroll in the Drama Centre London. This “bet on herself” resulted in a career defined by breaking barriers, from her breakthrough in the sci-fi series Humans to her iconic role as Astrid Leong in Crazy Rich Asians.
Chan is vocal about the “depressing” lack of diversity in Hollywood and has used her platform to ensure Asian faces are seen on screen, notably as Sersi in Marvel’s Eternals.
Chan recently joined the James Bond universe in the 2026 title 007 First Light, providing the voice and likeness for Selina Tan.
Beyond acting, Chan is a tireless advocate for Asian representation and child safety through her work with UNICEF.
