Accessibility Policy

Last Updated: May 1, 2026

The Asian American College Board of Excellence, also known as AACBE, is committed to making our website accessible and usable for all visitors, including students, families, educators, donors, volunteers, and community members with disabilities.

We believe every student should be able to access information about our scholarships, mission, application process, and online resources with dignity, independence, and ease.

Our Commitment

AACBE strives to maintain a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology, ability, or circumstance. We are actively working to improve the accessibility and usability of our website and to follow recognized accessibility standards, including the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, commonly known as WCAG.

Our goal is to conform to WCAG 2.2 Level AA wherever reasonably possible.

Accessibility Measures

To support accessibility, we aim to:

  • Use clear page structure, headings, and navigation.
  • Provide readable text with sufficient color contrast.
  • Support keyboard navigation throughout the website.
  • Use descriptive link text and button labels.
  • Provide alternative text for meaningful images.
  • Make forms as clear and usable as possible.
  • Design content that works across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
  • Maintain compatibility with common browsers, assistive technologies, and screen readers.
  • Scholarship Applications and Forms

AACBE provides online tools for student registration, login, and scholarship applications. We are committed to making these forms as accessible as possible so students can create accounts, complete applications, and submit required information without unnecessary barriers.

If you experience difficulty using a form, logging in, uploading materials, or completing any part of the scholarship process, please contact us so we can help provide support or an alternative way to complete the process.

Ongoing Improvements

Accessibility is an ongoing effort. As AACBE grows and adds new pages, scholarship resources, student dashboard features, forms, and application tools, we will continue reviewing and improving the website experience.

We may periodically test the website using automated tools, manual reviews, keyboard testing, screen reader checks, and user feedback.

Third-Party Content

Some parts of the website may include third-party tools, embedded content, plugins, payment systems, form services, or external links. While AACBE cannot control every third-party system, we aim to choose tools that support accessibility and to address known accessibility issues when they affect the user experience.

Feedback and Assistance

We welcome feedback about the accessibility of our website. If you encounter an accessibility barrier, need help using the website, or would like to request information in an alternative format, please contact us.

When contacting us, please include:

The page URL where the issue occurred.
A short description of the problem.
The device, browser, or assistive technology you were using, if relevant.
Your preferred contact method.

We will make reasonable efforts to respond promptly and work with you to provide the information, service, or support you need.

No Discrimination

AACBE is committed to providing equal access to our website, scholarship information, student resources, and application process. We do not knowingly exclude individuals from accessing our online services because of disability.

Continued Commitment

AACBE’s mission is rooted in educational access, opportunity, and community support. Website accessibility is part of that commitment. We will continue working to improve the digital experience for all users.
